UBM Channel Hosts Third Annual Women of the Channel Event

United Business MediaUBM Channel recently hosted its third annual Women of the Channel event in New York City with more than 120 in attendance. The popular Winter Workshop is a one-day session designed exclusively for women of the high tech channel. Unlike any other event of its kind, the Women of the Channel event provides a comfortable environment where women in channel business roles can share insight, find mentors, invest in self awareness and development, network for personal and professional growth and celebrate success.


“The Women of the Channel Workshop is one of my favorite events each year. I’ve been coming since it started three years ago and I’ve often brought my teams as it’s a really excellent place to network with other women and talk about things that are important to us in the channel industry,” commented Brooke Cunningham, Senior Director of Global Partner Marketing for QlikTech.

In addition to networking opportunities, conference attendees heard from inspirational women business leaders including:

  • Tiffani Bova, Vice President, Gartner

The event also featured a panel entitled, “Hard Won Wisdom.” Moderator Jennifer Follett, CRN Executive Editor, Online of UBM Channel led female channel executives from Juniper Networks, Riverbed, SAP, Symantec and VMware in a candid discussion about lessons learned and finding the right path to success.

“The Women of the Channel Workshop is an event that inspires with common sense and with takeaways from which I have already benefited. I cannot wait for the next one,” noted Wendy Garrison, Director of Marketing and Partner Relations for BCI.

During the event, attendees also took part in a Channel@Work event, an ongoing initiative by UBM Channel to provide opportunities for the channel community to give back. For the Women of the Channel event, UBM Channel partnered with One Warm Coat, a national non-profit organization that assists in the donation of new and/or reusable coats. During the Winter Workshop, attendees donated coats, scarves, hats, gloves and other winter accessories to Safe Horizon through One Warm Coat. They also donated $2,625 in support of the shelter program.
